Social Studies Department: Empowering Students through MUN Participation

The Social Studies Department of North American International School, (NAIS) Dubai is proud to highlight the active participation of students from Grades 6 to 12 in the Model United Nations (MUN). Over the years, students have participated in various MUN conferences, engaging in meaningful discussions on global issues that foster a deeper understanding of diplomacy, international relations, and critical thinking.

MUN participation equips students with essential 21st-century skills, including public speaking, research, negotiation, and teamwork. By stepping into the roles of global leaders and decision-makers, students develop the ability to articulate their viewpoints, appreciate diverse perspectives, and collaborate on solutions to complex challenges. The school continues to provide a platform for students to participate in such enriching experiences, reinforcing its reputation as a center of academic excellence and leadership development. This initiative reflects our commitment to nurturing informed, confident, and globally minded individuals prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.

In a significant step forward, the Social Studies Department, in collaboration with NAIS students, has taken the initiative to organize an in-school MUN conference, aiming to bring it to fruition by the end of January 2025. This project highlights their dedication, creativity, and leadership, embodying the school’s core values of global citizenship and lifelong learning.

Through such initiatives, we inspire our students to dream big, think critically, and act responsibly, paving the way for their future as impactful global citizens.
